STAYING GROUNDED IN UNCERTAIN TIMES
LESSON 1
You’re Not Imagining It
If things feel heavier lately, you’re not imagining it.
There is a lot of uncertainty in the world right now. Tension. Instability. Rapid change. Even if you’re not directly affected by events, the atmosphere itself can feel charged and unsettling. People are on edge. Nervous systems are overloaded. The collective field is loud.
Feeling anxious, unsettled, distracted, or hyper-alert in times like this does not mean something is wrong with you. It means you are human and perceptive.
One of the most damaging ideas in modern spirituality is the belief that being “spiritual” means staying calm at all times, staying positive no matter what, or being untouched by what’s happening around you. That’s not wisdom. That’s disconnection.
Awareness does not make you immune to reality. It makes you more sensitive to it.
The goal of this course is not to convince you that everything is fine or to teach you how to ignore what’s happening. That kind of bypassing creates more anxiety, not less. When your inner experience doesn’t match the story you’re telling yourself, your system stays tense.
Instead, this course is about learning how to stay grounded while living in uncertain conditions.
Grounded does not mean calm all the time.
Grounded means present, steady, and oriented.
When you are grounded, you can feel fear without being consumed by it. You can stay informed without becoming overwhelmed. You can acknowledge danger or uncertainty without living in constant anticipation of it.
Right now, many people are stuck in one of two extremes.
Some are bracing constantly, scanning for what’s coming next, mentally rehearsing worst-case scenarios. Their bodies never get to rest.
Others are trying to spiritually override what they feel, telling themselves they “shouldn’t” be anxious, that they need to stay high-vibe, detached, or unbothered. Their bodies don’t believe them.
Neither of these creates safety.
Spiritual grounding begins with honesty.
If your system feels unsettled, acknowledge that.
If your attention feels scattered, notice that.
If you feel a low-grade sense of threat or uncertainty, name it quietly to yourself.
Not to dwell on it. Not to dramatize it. Simply to stop pretending it isn’t there.
There is a big difference between awareness and panic.
Awareness says, Something is shifting. I need to stay present and steady.
Panic says, Something is wrong and I need answers right now.
This course is about strengthening awareness, not feeding panic.
In the coming lessons, we’ll talk about grounding practices, inner safety, fear regulation, boundaries, and how to live without needing constant certainty. But before any of that can work, this first step matters:
You are not failing because you feel affected by the world.
You are responding to it.
For now, your only practice is this:
When you notice tension, fear, or unease, don’t argue with it and don’t chase it. Simply acknowledge it and bring your attention back into your body. Feel your feet. Notice your breath. Orient to where you are, right now.
Grounding always begins here. Not in the future. Not in answers. In the present moment.
