SIGNS: HOW SPIRIT ACTUALLY COMMUNICATES

(AND WHY YOU'RE MISSING IT)

LESSON 6

Lesson 6: When You Don’t Get a Sign (And What That Really Means)

By now, you may be wondering what it means when you ask for a sign and nothing obvious seems to happen.

This is one of the most misunderstood parts of working with signs.

Silence is often interpreted as abandonment or failure, but that’s rarely the case.

Not getting a sign is still information.

What Silence Often Means

When no clear sign appears, it often means one of the following:

  • You already know the answer

  • You’ve been given enough information to decide

  • The choice is meant to come from you, not outside guidance

  • Action is required before further clarity appears

Spirit does not always respond with symbols.

Sometimes the response is trust.

When the Sign Already Came

Another possibility is this:

You did receive a sign, but you didn’t recognize it.

This can happen when:

  • The sign didn’t look the way you expected

  • It arrived quietly instead of dramatically

  • It challenged what you wanted rather than confirmed it

  • You dismissed it because it felt inconvenient

Signs don’t always show up in the form people hope for.

They often show up as redirection, delay, or discomfort.

Ignoring or Reframing Signs

It’s also common to ignore signs unintentionally.

This happens when:

  • You’re emotionally attached to a specific outcome

  • You reinterpret the message to make it more comfortable

  • You explain it away because it requires change

  • You keep waiting for something “better” or more obvious

If you find yourself thinking, “That can’t be the sign,” pause.

That reaction alone is worth paying attention to.

Expectation Can Block Recognition

Many people miss signs because they expect them to look a certain way.

They’re waiting for:

  • A specific symbol

  • A dramatic confirmation

  • A feeling of excitement or relief

But signs don’t exist to perform.

They exist to communicate.

If a sign answers the question but not in the form you wanted, it’s still a sign.

When to Stop Asking

If you’ve asked for a sign, stayed open, and paid attention, repeated asking isn’t helpful.

Repeated asking usually means:

  • You don’t trust the answer

  • You’re hoping for a different outcome

  • You’re avoiding responsibility

At that point, the most aligned move is to stop asking and act on what you already know.

A Grounding Reminder

Signs are meant to support discernment, not replace it.

Silence doesn’t mean you’re cut off.

It often means you’re being trusted.

In the final lesson, we’ll talk about how to interpret signs when they do appear, including when they’re literal, symbolic, or simply pointing you back to yourself.
