A clear question is the foundation of a good reading.
One of the hardest parts of any psychic or cartomancy reading isn’t receiving information, it’s accurately interpreting what comes through from Spirit and the cards. That interpretation becomes much clearer when your question is well-defined and when you include any relevant background.
Clear questions lead to clear answers. Here are some guidelines for asking clear questions:
1. Ask open-ended questions
I do not answer closed-ended, yes or no questions.
Spirit does not operate in absolutes, and yes/no questions limit the depth and usefulness of a reading. Psychic and card readings work best when Spirit is allowed to describe a situation, not reduce it to a single answer.
Please ask open-ended questions. These types of questions often begin with: What, Why, or How.
Example:
❌ “Should I call my friend?”
❌ “Will this work out?”
✅ “What is likely to happen if I reach out to my friend?”
✅ “What should I know about this situation right now?”
These types of questions allow Spirit and the cards to provide insight, context, and guidance rather than a flat yes or no.
2. About “Will I…” and “Should I…” questions
Questions that begin with “Will I…” or “Should I…” are not ideal for psychic readings.
We all have free will. Spirit is not here to tell you what to do or make decisions for you. Instead, Spirit provides information about the energy surrounding a situation so you can make the best decision for yourself.
Rather than asking Spirit to decide for you, ask for insight that helps you understand:
What’s influencing the situation.
What’s likely to happen based on current energy.
What you should be aware of before deciding.
Spirit gives guidance, not commands.
3. Be specific and include context
Please be as clear and specific as possible, and include any background information that helps clarify what you’re asking.
For example, a question like:
“What does the future hold for romance between John and me?” can mean very different things depending on the situation:
Is this a current partner?
A new connection?
A past relationship?
Someone you’re interested in but haven’t dated?
That context matters. It helps me understand what I’m receiving so I can interpret the information accurately instead of guessing which scenario applies.
4. About timing questions
Timing can be tricky because we live in a dynamic universe, not a fixed one.
Free will, choices, and changing circumstances all affect how and when things unfold. Spirit will show what is most likely to happen based on the energy at the time of the reading, but timelines can shift.
You are welcome to include a timeframe, as long as it is reasonable and specific.
Examples:
✅ “What is likely to happen with my job situation over the next three months?”
❌ “What’s coming up in my life this year?”
In some readings, timing may come through as:
Something happening quickly or slowly
A rough timeframe
Timing connected to an event rather than a date
This allows timing to emerge naturally without forcing it.
In short
Spirit offers insight, not orders.
Clear, open-ended questions allow for meaningful guidance.
Vague or closed-ended questions limit what can come through.
If you take a moment to frame your questions well, you’ll get far more out of your reading.
